Kuranui Enrolments

This message came to me on my email...

 

Hi everyone,

Kuranui will be here for the Yr 8’s to enrol for 2015 on Thursday 11 September.  Appointments will start at 9.30 am and run in 20 minute blocks.  Gina Smith will be here to do the enrolments and will stay for ‘as long as it takes’! 
The parents will need to bring along a copy of their child’s birth certificate or passport. 
Appointments can be made by phoning our school office.

Powell Hut

Year 8's :At this stage we will be going on Monday to Powell Hut. 
Year 7's will be with Whaea Michelle for both days.

Photography

Look for things you can take photos of that use hearts or that relate to having a Strong Heart.

 

This Week

Monday: 
We will be doing a day of writing as a follow up from the visit we had from Stephen Graham last week.  I am excited about this.
Homework and spelling will be done today. Friday was the chess tournament and we had a few away, so it was not done.
Room 13 is caving today.

Tuesday:
We will continue our writing learning.
Technology

Wednesday:
We will continue our writing learning.
Room 14 is caving today.
Room 12 and 13 are going to Wairarapa College to see the Grease Production.  Remember to bring to school your permission note and $3 for this show. 

Thursday:
Powell Hut.  If our tramp is not on - continue writing and art (for the A and P show)
If the Powell Hut tramp not on I will let you know on this Blog.

Friday
Return from Powell Hut.   If the tramp is not on - art and photography day (for the A and P show).

Tramp today is Cancelled

Sorry Year 8's no tramp today as it is too cold and wet.  A normal day today.

Monday:



Tuesday:
Technology
Year 8's tramp up Mount Dick after Technology.  Year 7's with Whaea Michelle
Radio station training for Michael at 2:00.
School newsletter coming home today.


Wednesday:
Year 8's at Kuranui all day for their Open Day with Whaea Michelle.  Year 7's with Me and Mr B
HPS Team meetings?  I have to check this due to the open day.


Thursday:



Friday:
Year 8's to Wairarapa College in the afternoon for their Open Day with Me. Year 7's with Mr B and Whaea Michelle.
Report files coming home today.
Homework and spelling due in today.

Week Two: update

Thank you all for the prompt returns for our Planting Day last Wednesday.  It was a successful outing as we planted a lot of trees along the waterway.  Room 12 discussed how their actions related to Citizenship, Take Action for Water, Our school's 3 R's and this terms inquiry into Healthy Mind, Healthy Heart, Healthy Body.  Enviroschools and the Greater Wellington Regional Council were very impressed by us.

During our Nature Study time we learnt about our water ways, water clarity and the importance of planting along water ways.

 

Our school open day was last Wednesday!
