Well done Year 8 for your walk/run of Fensham Reserve yesterday. I was very tired last night from walking it. Next week it is Mount Dick. Think about and try to organise correct clothing and shoes to wear. Remember a drink bottle.

This is past the Dalefield school. Drive until you see the Greater Wellington cars and park on the side of the road.
Planting and Nature Study Day - this Wednesday
Sorry for the short notice as this has just been
confirmed today…
We
will be planting at Kendall Farm, Haringa Road, Carterton. Fonterra Supply Number 46481.
We
will do about 1 hour of planting and 1 hour of a nature study. Esther will be working with us as well as a
small group of South End School students.
There
won’t be a postponement date for this planting day and it will go ahead unless
we are rung on the morning.
We
have been given this opportunity as a result of our Citizenship and Water
Inquiry in Term 1. It also fits in with
this terms learning Strong Heart, Strong, Mind, Strong Body.
The timeframe for the trip is:
We will be leaving school at 9:45 and travelling to Kendall
Farm, Haringa Road, Carterton. From 10:00am until 12:00pm we will be planting
and doing the Nature Study. Then travel back at Carterton School by 12:15.
For this outing I need your parent consent that your
child is able to attend. If you are able
to provide transport let me know Tuesday.
Your child will need to wear mufti (suitable clothes
for planting) on that day.
If you have any questions please come and see me at
school or ring me on 379 6624(Home).
As said previously sorry for the short notice as this
has just been confirmed today.

Week One Term 3
Kia ora koutou!
Wow! That week went fast! It was a busy week - It was Te Reo Maori week, the beginning of the Commonwealth Games and our first week back.
Thank you to all of the families who sent back the family brainstorm about 'Healthy Mind, Healthy Heart, Healthy Body'. We will put together all of the ideas you had so we can have a look at them as a class. (There won't be any names attached to it.)
This term the winner of the Homework Voucher (No homework for a week) was Holly. Congratulations Holly. You can use that voucher at any time during this term.
The Team Homework sheets were given out on Monday 21st July but Room 12 have decided that they would like a weekend to do the homework in. So our homework routine will now be ...homework will be given out on Friday and due in on the following Friday. So last weeks homework is due this Friday which is the 1st August. Students have had extra time this time around.
I will not be having my CRT day on Thursday 31st July as it is now our School Open day and I would like to be in the classroom on that day, as we will have visitors in and out of the classroom and school all day. But I will be away from school on Friday 1st August (so the reliever will help mark and collect in the homework.)
Last week several notices were given out about upcoming events like caving, Year 8 tramps, Powell Hut and our end of year camp. On these notes there were dates as well the cost of each event.
Please send back the return slips as soon as possible so we can organise these events thoroughly.
The raffle for our end of year camp was drawn on Friday and winners have been notified. Thank you for your support in selling the tickets. Mr B has a record of how much to take off your end of year camp fees.
Please message me if you have any comments, questions or ideas.
Thanks!
