It's not ok to miss a day poster competition

Congratulations to Ashley Lowe who won the poster competition.  She won a tablet for the school and a basket of goodies for herself.  Her poster is now the Wairarapa wide campaign poster.

Movin March

Movin March - We decorated the gate, walked to school with a walking school bus, decorated shoes and scooters.  Had Jack the Kaka visit our assembly! What a busy week!

Camp Mangapari

We had a fantastic camp at Camp Mangapari! Well done Year 7 and 8's.

Welcome to Mrs Butler

Today Room 12 welcomed Mrs Butler for the next 7 weeks.  She is training to be a teacher through Victoria University.  We hope she learns a lot from us as she prepares for her own class in 2015.

Hot Air Balloon Visit

At 1:30 today we had two hot air balloons, pilots and their crew come to school to inform us about hot air balloons.  They set up, inflated and tried to stand the balloon up but it was too windy.  We watched them pack the balloon up.  Some classes had a look at the basket.
What a great experience!

Red Cross Mufti Day

Today we had a Mufti Day to raise money for the Red Cross.  Students were asked to come in red, white and black and to bring a gold coin to donate.  We raised around $319 for Red Cross. 
A huge thank you to Room 12 for organising this event for our school, during the Red Cross Appeal week. 
Thank you to the girls who made the Red Cross stickers for each child to wear for the day. 
Thank you to the Year 7's who made the posters for each class to put in a window. 
Thank you to Rosalie, Holly and Ashley for taking messages, collecting and counting the money.  What a successful day! 
The money we raised is nearly enough to pay for 23 children to do a People Savers first aid course
or
the Red Cross may use $200 to enable a mine victim to walk again with at new prosthetic limb
or
for $20 they could provide two emergency tarpaulins for shelter when homes are lost
or
for $12 it could provide tow emergency blankets.
What a lot that money could do!

Triathlon

We had a fantastic day for the school triathlon on Friday with nearly 100% participation!  Congratulations to the Year 8 for organising and running the event and well done the Year 7 for helping out when needed.  It was a great day!

Frogs and Tadpoles

Mrs Kennedy and I released our classroom Frogs into the Patterson's Pond on Friday afternoon.   They will be much happier there.

I have tried to group things onto pages so they are easier to find.  These are found on the right hand side of this page.
I have used 'Page Titles' like 'Legends of the Year', 'Inquiry', 'Exploring' and 'Homework'. 
The most current one will be at the top.
I hope that makes sense!
